Liangcai : A Chinese Man who Builds Scooter With Suitcase

A man in China has built a battery-powered scooter with a suitcase which not only helps in the transportation of his belongings but also himself, a media report said Thursday.

He Liangcai, a resident of Central China's Hunan province, demonstrated his invention at the Changsha train station, from where he rode to his home a few kilometres away, Global Times reported.

The suitcase scooter weighs seven kgs and is capable of carrying two people. It can travel upto 20 km per hour for a distance of 50-60 km.

It also comes equipped with GPS navigation and a burglar alarm.

Since it is battery operated, it needs to be charged.

He, originally a farmer, said that it took him 10 years to invent the suitcase scooter.

The vehicle is made from a stripped-down electric scooter which is embedded into a suitcase. The rider strides the rectangular luggage and grabs handlebars that control the throttle, breaks and lights.

He is already a recognised inventor as he has won a prize at a US-based inventors awards ceremony in 1999 for the invention of an innovative car safety system.

He said that he got the idea of the suitcase scooter when he forgot his luggage on his way to accept the award in the US.

Don’t Reheat Rice from a Restaurant

Don’t Reheat Rice from a Restaurant

Bringing home rice is dangerous, especially if you don’t know how it was prepared. The rice has the opportunity to set at room temperature before it can be refrigerated, which allows toxic spores to germinate. If you take home leftovers from a restaurant–leave the rice behind. That includes fried rice, which is the culprit in many cases of rice food poisoning. Don’t take chances with your health by reheating restaurant rice at home.

Why You Shouldn't Reheat Rice

No one likes to waste food which is why so many people bring home their leftover rice to eat the following day. Few Chinese food lovers think of rice as being a food likely to cause foodborne illness, but it is, especially if it's improperly handled.
Raw rice may contain spores of bacteria called Bacillus cereus. These spores form to protect the bacteria from heat and other outside influences, and they aren't easily destroyed - even by cooking. Even though Bacillus cereus spores aren't readily eliminated by cooking, eating rice is unlikely to cause food poisoning if the rice is kept hot before serving - and not allowed to set around on a counter at room temperature. If this happens, the spores can germinate into active bacteria. For this reason, rice should always be served immediately after it's prepared.

Does Reheating Rice to a High Temperature Kill the Bacteria?
Bacillus cereus spores aren't easily destroyed by heat, so even if you reheat rice to a high temperature, you won't necessarily kill them - and the heat can actually activate them so they're able to cause food poisoning. The only way to avoid this problem is to cook rice thoroughly and cool it very quickly before storing it in the refrigerator - without letting it cool down to room temperature slowly. If it's done properly, it's safe to reheat rice no more than one time, but make sure it's heated thoroughly.

What are the Symptoms of Rice Food Poisoning?
The bacillus cereus bacteria that cause rice food poisoning produce an enterotoxin that causes vomiting or diarrhea. If a person is unfortunate enough to ingest some of the spores, symptoms of nausea and vomiting usually appear pretty quickly - within four or five hours. There's another form of rice food poisoning from bacillus cereus that takes longer to develop (eight to twenty hours) and mainly has symptoms of diarrhea and abdominal cramping.

Can a Positive Home Pregnancy Test Indicate Testicular Cancer?

Circulating Above message on facebook claims that if a man takes a pregnancy test and gets a positive result, it means he most likely has testicular cancer.

Detailed Analysis

According to a message circulating via social media, if a man takes a pregnancy test and gets a positive result, it means he most likely has testicular cancer.

The claim has some basis in fact, but may be dangerously misleading if taken too seriously.

Home pregnancy tests work by detecting the hormone Beta-HCG, which is produced by cells in the placenta during pregnancy. Some testicular cancer tumours - and other types of tumours - also excrete Beta-HCG. Thus, a home pregnancy test could indeed indicate testicular cancer.

According to the American Cancer Society, the problem is that only a small minority of men with testicular cancer will have high enough levels of the hormone to be detected by a home pregnancy test. Therefore, a man could still have testicular cancer even if a pregnancy test provided a negative result. And, some non-cancerous conditions can also give positive results for Beta-HCG.

Thus, online comments that suggest that men should regularly perform pregnancy tests as a way of screening for testicular cancer are ill-founded and potentially dangerous. The American Cancer Society advises that men should see a doctor straight away if they find a lump on a testicle or if a testicle is swollen or larger than normal. The Society has detailed information about detecting methods and testicular examination techniques on its website.

FreeKall allows you to make voice calls for free, does not need internet access.

free calling without app ,smart phone or internet! just give a missed call to 080 49202060 or register at www.freekall.co

Three Bangalore based engineering students, Yashas C Shekar, Vijaykumar Umaluti and Sandesh E, have launched FreeKall, a free voice calling service for those who do not have any internet access.

http://www.freekall.co
FreeKall makes money by making people listen to advertisements during calls. So once two users are connected, they will be able to hear 10 second advertisements after every two minutes in the middle of the call. Freekall has tied up with a media agency called Streetsmart Media Solutions for the advertisements.
To make a FreeKall users have to dial the numbers 080-67683693 or 080-67683693 and the call will be disconnected after a ring. After that, the automated system calls the user back and asks them to dial the desired number and get connected. The system can currently support 20,000 calls per second. FreeKall is currently in Beta as of now and so far it has already been used to make nearly four lakh (400,000) calls so far.
Registered users can make 12 minute calls in 24 hours and un-registered users can make calls for upto three minutes. Once the service goes live, registered users will be able to make unlimited calls.
